I am a sophomore at West High School in Madison. I play the cello in Philharmonia Orchestra of WYSO. My interest in art lies in a wide variety of crafts: drawing, painting, beading, and others.

I call my violin design “Simple Beauty”. The design is very simple: a sunset with two palm tree silhouettes and two hibiscus flowers. It shows the beauty of nature.
I first came up with my design during the winter. As the days became colder and colder, I wished that I could travel to a place with warm weather. What better place is there than Hawaii with its beautiful sunrises and sunsets? The palm trees are silhouetted against the picturesque sunset and reach toward the emerging stars. Hibiscuses are the national flower of Hawaii and they bring out the beauty of nature - thinking of them gives me a sense of tranquility and happiness as I sit through winter, wishing for spring to come.
