"I don't play a musical instrument today though the listening skills
I gained as a child in school band informs my adult joy of listening to orchestra
music. If not
for
Art Of Note asking me to bead a violin for their successful annual fundraiser
I doubt that I'd have ever learned to love holding a violin. I repeatedly
stitched beads like practiced notes and bow strokes into this violin for
WYSO. The back of the violin,
like the behind the scenes work of WYSO is a complex
pattern of defining circles and stripes. WYSO is a generous community of
board members, staff, orchestra directors supporting young musicians who
show up repeatedly to create exceptional music. The front of the violin is
my standing ovation of praise for outstanding WYSO concert performances.”
