"Variations on the Theme of One Pear"
Audrey Lundquist Paesel was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. After receiving her Bachelor s Degree from Northern Illinois University, she taught in Palatine and Urbana, Illinois. Moving to Europe in the sixties, she worked and exhibited paintings in France, England and Germany. In 1994 she returned to the U.S. and now lives and works in Madison, Wisconsin. Ms. Paesel works in oils, watercolors, and mixed media, often enclosing her works in old dartboard cases, ammunition crates, cigar boxes, etc. She creates unique figures by painting directly on blocks of wood.
"My husband and I arrived in Madison from Germany 12 Years ago. We
were pleased to find here the great quantity and quality of classical
music which we had enjoyed while living in Germany. How delighted I was,
then, to be able to paint a violin for the WYSO this year."
