Rongjie Lu is an eighth grader at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Madison. She is currently a second violinist in the Concert Orchestra of Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Rongjie has always found great interest in art and music, as well as literature. The design of the violin was inspired by the book "The Looking Glass Wars," a retelling of "Alice in Wonderland."
