“The majority of my painting examines "our" relationships with the outerscape (landscapes), innerscape (thoughtscapes), and each other (e-scapes).
Since I have very little knowledge of 'the violin' except listening, "String Theory" centers on one of most famous people of science and his love of the violin. Einstien spent the majority of his life trying to solve a 'single unified theory', dying with it unsolved. Einstien is reputed to have said, "A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit, and a violin, what else does a man need?" I took these two ideas and put them together, thus making "String Theory" a thoughtscape.” Peregrine Smith
Peregrine Smith is the son of two of Australia’s most significant and influential artists, Gray Smith and Joy Hester. He carries their legacy as an American painter working formally in Madison and now in Berkeley. His paintings are shown throughout the United States and in his native Australia.
