“I was honored to be asked to rosemale a violin for such a worthwhile cause. It is a pleasure to help WYSO bring the possibility of music to young people. Music is a large part of our lives and WYSO distinguishes itself by helping to make this happen.
My artistic expression has brought many good things to my like. Through rosemaling I have a creative outlet, social involvement and friendly competition. I would hope the young people benefited by WYSO could experience the same.” Jerry JohnsonJerry Johnson is a native of Stoughton, Wisconsin. He became involved with the art of rosemaling in 1990, developing a talent that has since become a passion. He works in the Gudbrandsdal style of rosemaling, which is inspired from the Norwegian acanthus leaf wood carving from the 16th to 18th century.
