Andrée Valley works and teaches in Madison and is a sculptor in metal as well as in paper. Her work is represented in collections throughout the United States and Europe. Patterns and color in her work are abstractions of descriptive mapping symbols. Much of her work involves layering and the complication of viewing shapes through each other. Andrée has an MFA from the University of Michigan.
“Deconstructed violin: layers, pattern, and color. Like the
flow and pattern of music; sounds that are on top of each other form the
shape. Music and art are visual as well as aural and like everything,
interpretation can take many forms.”
