Lois Mueller

Lois Mueller was educated at University of Wisconsin- Platteville and received a B.S. in Comprehensive Music Education. She took her first Rosemaling class in 1977 and became hooked. Since 1979 she taught Rosemaling all over the United States at colleges, museums, galleries and various Sons of Norway Lodges. She and her husband, a wood carver, attend many Scandinavian Festivals throughout the United States. She is presently Director of the Rountree Gallery in Platteville.
Lois Mueller's notable achievements are winning the Gold Metal for Excellence in Rosemaling from Vesterheim, the Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah, IA, authoring five Rosamaling instructional books and writing 12 "Basics of Rosemaling" articles for Painting Magazine.
